was founded in 1991 by Serge Pun as an investment holding and
operating company pursuing seven spheres of businesses. Over the
past ten years, SPA has had dynamic growth and an impressive track
record of successful businesses in Myanmar. Currently, there are
29 operating companies within the Group, which includes the group’s
flagship – FIRST
MYANMAR INVESTMENT COMPANY LIMITED (FMI),
a Myanmar Public Company. Foreign joint venture partners includes
multinational corporations such as Nissan Motor Company, Suzuki
Motor Company and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, as well as international
private investment companies and high net worth individuals from
North America, Europe and Asia.
The SPA Group
employs some 3,005 employees directly plus thousands more indirectly
who are employed by our sub-contractors working on SPA projects.
SPA has served
over 4,000 investors or shareholders in various investment companies
and projects. In the financial year 2001/2002, SPA Group’s
turnover was in excess of

was one of the earliest public company formed following the adoption
of market economy and the promulgation of the Myanmar Investment
Act in the early 90s. Established in 1992, it became an instant
success with local investors hungry for professional investment
management and sound diversity. The Company’s initial Public
Offering was fully subscribed and subsequent rights issues and
new issues have also always been successful. Today, FMI has been
widely recognized as one of the foremost public companies in Myanmar
with an outstanding track record of steady profits and impressive
dividends over the past 10 years.
With over 3,500 shareholders
and shareholders equity in excess of Ks. 2,800 million, FMI boasts
