YOMA BANK HASH RUN NO. 726Yoma Bank's contributions to the community services is not only limited to the Pwin Oo Lwin Old Folk Home or flood victims in Namsan. It has spread out its wings to even encompass the sport arena. Yangon Hash Harriers Run No. 726 held on 6th April, 2002 was sponsored by Yoma Bank. The run was nicknamed YOMA BANK IT ROMP alias THE HAT RUN. Free caps were distributed to all the participants to protect them from the hot and bleaching April sun. Since the running trail was set by the senior executives of the Bank, obviously by default, the starting point of the run was held in front of Yoma Bank, Bayintnaung branch.
The running route covered the Bayintnaung and Hlaing Thayar outskirt areas and the Hashers enjoyed the picturesque and scenic beauty of the off beaten track of Yangon. The ending point was again at Yoma Bank, Hlaing Thayar branch where the down-downs* was held. * Down-downs is the punishment given to Hasher who have broken the rules of the run. The wrong-doer has to drink a mug of beer as the punishment. |
