YOMA BANK MANAGERS’ CONFERENCE (9 – 11 September 2001), Bagan
Yoma Bank held its 3rd quarterly Managers’ Conference in Bagan from 9 – 11 September 2001. All the branch managers from the 41 branches nationwide, together with the Executive Committee convened at the Yun Theik Pan Hall, Bagan. The theme of this conference was ‘GET READY TO TAKE THE QUANTUM LEAP’.
During the three days’ conference, the participants had group discussions, role-plays, and presentations by speakers from the various Heads of Departments. On the last day, there was even a test on the managers’ knowledge level on branch operations. Amongst the topics discussed were Banking Security, How to improve our Bank, What is a model Branch Manager and various issues on the branch banking operations.
It was not all work and no play…. In the evening, the branch managers’ were treated to a BBQ dinner and karaoke sessions. During these social activities, the branch managers were encouraged to interact so that they can exchange experiences and also to widen their network among the peers.
On the last day of the conference, they had the opportunity to fulfill their religious obligations - visiting some of the famous pagodas in Bagan and paying homage to Lord Buddha.
This quarterly conference has now become a important event in the Yoma Bank’s calendar and all the managers look forward to such gathering.
